THIS SALAD IS DOPE

shalom! i have here my most favorite salad to make. this bad boy is easy to make and tastes like lunch a trendy bistro.

what you'll need:
3-4 handfuls of baby arugula (or however much salad you feel like eating)
2 red beets, diced (i use trader joe's steamed beets but canned will suit ya)
crumbled blue cheese (just sprinkle on to your liking, i go generous because duh i live for that crap)
6-8 candied pecans, chopped (see below for how to candy pecans)
6-8 blackberries (optional)
1/2 tablespoon olive oil

load your arugula on a plate and spread the rest of the fixings on top. once everything is sitting pretty in it's place, drizzle the olive oil on top (you can add more or less oil depending on how you like your salad dressed)

how to candy pecans: melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan. add 1/2 cup pecan halves and 1/4 cup brown sugar and stir to coat the pecans in sugar and butter. cook over medium until the mixture is sticky and slightly hardened. spread the mixture out on a baking sheet lined with wax paper until dry.
